Polehouse Lane – Devon Highways patching work

There will be temporary prohibition of through traffic and parking on Polehouse Lane, Ide from Tuesday 26th September 2017 until Friday 29th September 2017, and from Monday 2nd October 2017 until Friday 6th October 2017 (all dates inclusive).

“No person shall cause or permit any vehicle to proceed or wait on the sections of Affected Roads except for access to land or premises on or adjacent to those length of roads”

The alternative, signed, route for vehicles will be via: Markham Lane, Markham Cross, High Street, Fore Street, Old Ide Lane, and vice versa.

Two new planning applications have been received and will be discussed at the meeting of the Ide Parish Council Planning Committee at 6pm on Wednesday 20th September in The Hub, Ide Congregational Church.

The meeting is open to the public and will commence with a ten minute allocation for public participation.

Ide Neighbourhood Plan, Pre-submission Consultation Stage. 9am, 8th September to 4pm, 23rd October 2017

Ide Parish Council is currently preparing a Neighbourhood Plan,
led by the local community to:-

  • Enable and control the design of the Pynes Farm development.
  • Support well designed infill proposals.
  • Address the parking problems within the village.
  • Protect existing provision and expand sports and recreational facilities.
  • Protect local green spaces of significance and community value.
  • Preserve and enhance the C50 approaches to the village entrance.

Once complete the Neighbourhood Plan will form a material consideration in the
determination of planning applications within Ide Parish and will sit alongside the
Teignbridge Local Plan.

As part of the preparation of a Neighbourhood Plan a formal six week public consultation
must be undertaken with the local community and those with an interest in the area to
meet Regulation 14 of the Neighbourhood Planning Regulations 2012 and the Localism
Act 2011.

As such, Ide Parish Council is seeking your views and comments on the
Pre-Submission version of the Ide Neighbourhood Plan, which can be viewed online at
idevillage.org.uk or hard copies can be viewed at the following locations:

  • Ide Community Shop.
  • Poachers Inn.
  • The Huntsman Inn.
  • Twisted Oak Inn.
  • St Ida’s Church.
  • Ide Congregational Church.
  • Ide School.

Comments on the plan can be returned using the on-line representation form
or using the printed representation form to Ide Community Shop, Fore Street, Ide, EX4 9RQ
or via email to ideneighbourhoodplan@btinternet.com
to arrive by the deadline, 4pm, 23rd October 2017.

Anonymous responses will not be accepted. The name and address of each respondent
will be publicly available. All comments will be considered, responded to and published as
an appendix in the Neighbourhood Plan.

Message from National Grid re overnight closure of sections of M5

“National Grid” will close a section of the M5 motorway – between Junctions 28 and 30 – from 10pm on Saturday 2nd of September to 6am on Sunday 3rd of September. Also from 10pm on Sunday 3rd September until 6am on Monday 4th September, if necessary.  A diversion route will be in place. If they need to carry out any further work they will continue the following weekend during the same times.

Perridge Lane, Longdown – Temporary Prohibition of through traffic and parking

Devon County Council give notice that from Monday 7th August, for a maximum of 5 days, until Friday 11th August  (both dates inclusive), a temporary restriction will be in place on Perridge Lane, Longdown for pre-patching works for surface dressing.

The alternative signed route for vehicles will be via – Idestone Cross, Idestone Lane, Markham Cross, road past Westbury, Dunchideock Bridge, Willhayes Cross, Birch Cross, Lodge Cross and vice versa.
