WEIR MEADOW AND NORTHERN FIELDS – SEE GUIDELINES FOR USE BELOW

Weir Meadow is now open every day of the year from dawn until dusk, but is closed from 10pm. We will give ample notice when access to all or parts of the meadow may be restricted for sports field creation, planting work, maintenance or farm machinery.

Dog walkers should please keep to the boundary of the Meadow, away from the fenced central areas where the sports pitches have been planted. Please keep your dog under close control and clear up dog waste, putting it in the bins that are available in the village, additional bins at the entrance to Weir Meadow and close to the Northern Fields are installed.

The Northern Fields  allow pedestrian access around the perimeter of the eastern of the two Northern Fields (the field up to the right looking from Weir Meadow). Please respect this arrangement, stay close the edges of the fields and keep dogs on the lead. A new stile and gate have been installed off College Lane to make access easier. Work has been undertaken to manage and open up the area of rough vegetation in the westernmost of the Northern Fields, known as Oak Bank, to allow dogs to be exercised off the lead.

Plans are in hand to apply for funding to develop the sports pitches, fencing and tree planting.

Please note that no fires, barbecues or camping is allowed in Weir Meadow and cars, bicycles, motor bikes and other vehicles are not allowed into the Meadow without permission.

As with the Community Orchard, professional dog walking is not permitted in Weir Meadow or Northern Fields.
